Enso Poster

Design a poster to promote the Enso String Quartet’s concert.

The ensemble’s name, Enso, is derived from the Japanese Zen painting of the circle which represents many things: perfection and imperfection, the moment of chaos that is creation, the emptiness of the void, the endless circle of life, and the fullness of the spirit. When designing the poster, I wanted to emphasize these feelings that Enso’s name portrays. The text of the ensemble’s name, “Enso String Quartet” are disconnected, while sharing the same type treatment similar to chords or notes that make up a song.  The lines that run through the text is a nod at sheet music. The background of the poster is colorful, yet muted which in my opinion represents the juxtaposition classical pieces often have: moments of tension which emerge from a calming undercurrent.
